UK based Techtest Ltd has developed two more variants in its long established line of 406MHz Personal Locator Beacons. This series of products makes full use of the Cospas Sarsat search and rescue satellite system to minimise the detection and location time in an emergency.

A major US company has just performed a Customer Satisfaction Survey on Specmat Technologies Inc., one of the HR Smith Group of Companies. Specmat Technologies Inc, based in Tennessee, handles all the HR Smith Group’s business in the USA, Canada and Mexico as well as the final manufacturing of Static Dischargers for the company.
Personal Locator Beacon Selected By Czech Air Force
The Czech Air Force has just selected the 500-27 Personal Locator Beacon for use by their Air Crews flying the Aero-Vodochody L159. The beacon will be used within the crew's flight vest for pilots operating from the Cafflav airbase.
Lightweight GPS Antenna Receives ETSO Certification
HR Smith (Technical Developments) Limited are pleased to announce that their lightweight GPS antenna part number 10-264-35 has received certification in accordance with CS-ETSOC144.
ELT sales to Italy exceed 1,000 units
Techtest is pleased to announce it has just sold its 1o00th Emergency Locator Transmitter in Italy to customers including Aermacchi, Alenia, the Italian Air Force and Alitalia.
HR Smith Group obtains Westland Approval
In addition to the recently obtained Aerospace AS9100 approval and long-standing CAA Approvals, the HR Smith Group has a number of customer-specific approvals including Boeing, Airbus, British Aerospace, Kawasaki and Agusta Bell.
The latest approval to be obtained by the HR Smith Group is for Agusta Westland and covers both antenna products and emergency locator transmitters.
Expedition Southern Reach
Techtest Ltd supplied the RAF Expedition Southern Reach with its latest Series 500-27 Emergency Beacons capable of being tracked by satellites of the global COSPAS-SARSAT system.
Techtest ELT selected for A380
The Techtest 500-12Y Survival ELT, which has been approved by Airbus since 2002 has been selected by Airbus for fitment on to the prototype Airbus A380 aircraft.
